The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce began the planning process for hYPe in 2010 and launched their first event in January of 2011. The Chamber’s vision for hYPe was to help make Bloomington an attractive place for young professionals to live, work and play while enhancing the quality of life in our community for all. Retaining talent in our community is also another important factor to The Chamber and to our business community.
Ever since our start in 2011, hYPe has hosted events for young professionals ranging from resume workshops, tips for work/life balance, non-profit fairs, wine tastings, dance lessons and more. hYPe has also provided opportunities to get involved in the community – for example, we have participated in Habitat for Humanity builds, volunteered at the Taste of Bloomington, and walked as a team for the annual Hoosiers Outrun Cancer 5k.
As mentioned, one of hYPe’s goals is to retain talent in Bloomington – we want you to love where you live! If you have any suggestions for something else hYPe can be doing to serve our YP community, please don’t hesitate to contact Christopher Emge at The Chamber - firstname.lastname@example.org. We love hearing your thoughts!
