Helping Young Professionals Excel Launches New Blog
Bloomington, IN (June 26, 2012) – The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce’s helping Young Professionals excel (hYPe) today launched their new blog, hYPer-Link which will engage their members and other young professionals through relevant information aimed at fostering professional growth. hYPe committee members, Chamber staff and guest bloggers will contribute their ideas and advice to the weekly blog which is found at www.hypebloomington.wordpress.com.
hYPe is a program of The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce whose mission is to create a network of young professionals in the greater Bloomington area that advances personal and professional development through relationship building, skill enhancement, community enrichment and career advancement opportunities. Each month, hYPe hosts a free event that focuses on professional development or personal enrichment.
“Recent research shows that more than 53% of the blogging population is between 21 and 35 years old and another 19% under the age of 50. Blogging, social media and technology in general are areas that young professionals are proficient at and gravitate towards,” explains Kelsie Holt, hYPe Coordinator at The Chamber. “To introduce this forum where our members and young professionals can exchange information and ideas was the natural next step for The Chamber’s hYPe program.”
Along with blogs on professional and personal enrichment, hYPer-Link will feature information about upcoming hYPe events and programs, including The Chamber’s 10 Under 40 Awards, an event that recognizes ten deserving young professionals who have demonstrated outstanding community and/or workplace leadership. The 10 Under 40 Awards will be held July 26 at Bloomington/Monroe County Convention Center. Tickets are available for $45 per person or two tickets for $80 and may be purchased online at www.ChamberBloomington.org/events.
hYPe welcomes everyone between the ages of 21-40 who lives, learns, works, and plays in the Bloomington area to join. Even though hYPe is an initiative of The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce, Chamber membership is not required to participate.
