Local Business Advocacy

The Chamber supports members and the local business environment through strong government relations. The Chamber’s business advocacy efforts are member driven through our advocacy vetting process. Recognizing that our members are busy with day to day operations at their businesses leaving little time to track policies set at City or County Council, or various boards and commissions, Chamber staff attends countless hours of local public meetings representing business interests.

More about the Chamber’s Advocacy Process

Guiding the Chamber’s advocacy process is a diverse group of Chamber members who volunteer their time and experience, to thoughtfully and thoroughly probe each issue before recommending a position to the Board of Directors. The voices of those volunteers who form the various advocacy task forces, The Chamber’s Advocacy Council and the Legislative Council are joined with the feedback given by all members to help shape the Chamber’s final position on key issues.

The Advocacy & Community Issues Update provides a summary of those issues the Chamber is tracking. To learn more about these issues or to discuss any business concerns,
