The Chamber's policy approach is member driven and results focused. Our Government Affairs staff works with Chamber members to develop legislative agendas, organize lobbying efforts, profile cases, engage the business community, and build relationships in the public policy arena.

Chamber Advocacy Council
The focus area of the Chamber Advocacy Council is local government policy and regulations that affect business. Recent issues vetted by the CAC include the Monroe County Comprehensive Plan, I-69, capital investment in infrastructure including the CBU water expansion and local road projects, and the MCCSC referendum.
Legislative Council
The Legislative Council was chartered by the Board of Directors to study and track legislation at the State level that is critical to the local business community. In addition, the Council focuses on educating members on legislative issues affecting business, encouraging members to participate fully in the legislative process. Each year, the Legislative Council drafts a Legislative Agenda for the upcoming session of the Indiana General Assembly, which is approved by the Board of Directors.
