Committees & Councils
Chamber volunteers are the heart of our advocacy efforts. By leveraging the support, talent and resources of our members, the Chamber connects business leaders and elected officials to improve economic vitality and the quality of life for everyone.
Chamber Advocacy Council
Chair – Scot Davidson, Monroe Bank
The Chamber Advocacy Council spearheads the vetting of local issues and oversees
efforts by many subgroups comprised of experts in more specialized areas.
Looking at exactly how the Chamber is “advocating for business” is at the top of our
list of priorities. With your help the Chamber will be working on creating a more inclusive approach to how we identify, prioritize and communicate advocacy issues with members. Creating a process that works is essential.
Legislative Council
Chair – Tom Hirons, Hirons & Company Communications
The Legislative Council was chartered by the Board of Directors to study and track legislation at the State level that is critical to the local business community. In addition, the Council focuses on educating members on legislative issues affecting business, encouraging members to participate fully in the legislative process and advocating positions taken by the Board of Directors on business or community related issues.

Healthcare Team
Chair – MaryAnn Valenta, Bloomington Hospital
The Chamber's Healthcare Team works to provide opportunities and collaborative partnerships that affect healthcare, insurance costs, and individuals' outlook on wellness.
Environmental Stewardship Team
Chair – Mike Sonneborn, Commercial Service of Bloomington
The Chamber recently lauched the Environmental Stewardship Team, whose focus is to create awareness, develop initiatives focused on the business community, provide educational resources for members, and assist with guidance and direction in accordance with the Chamber's mission.
Infrastructure
Chair – Mike Carmin, Andrews, Harrell, Mann, Carmin & Parker, P.C.
East/West Traffic Team
Chair – A John Rose, Textillery Weavers
In accordance with the Chamber's Infrastructure Task Force Report, the East/West Traffic Team assists with the vital process of developing a plan of action that will not only improve the flow and safety of traffic through these corridors, but provide better access to businesses as our community continues to grow.
Parking Team

Water and Sewer Team
